Welcome To Composting!

Posted by under: Worms .

“Composting is the natural process of all organic
materials. But when human beings get into the
act and start burying their compostables in giant
landfill sites along with non biodegradable materials
like plastics, the natural composting action can be
delayed by dozens (maybe hundreds or thousands)
of years. We lose the potential benefits of all that organic
material. Your orange peels and tree leaves might as well be
tin cans and plastic bags for all the good they’re doing
you, once they’re in the landfill site.”

From 2 Minutes a Day for a Greener Planet by Marjorie Lamb

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “..leave the world a better place…to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” In the composting world that would mean after your beautiful flowers, branches, leaves have become yard waste, trimmings, whatever you want to call them, you compost them. What comes from the earth should be returned to the earth. We compost to recycle natural organic material, reduce greenhouse gases, and reduce waste going to the landfill.

On this site, you will find workshop dates and times for Maui, a product list and contact information. We hope to see you at one of our Maui workshops. Come and say hello when you see us at an event promoting composting and tell your friends about composting and vermicomposting. We are happy to hear from our neighbor islands, and ship our products statewide. For more information, please visit our products page.
